From Shirley Dye: Hi all, The Forest Service is having a Public meeting this Thursday, January 24th, at the same time as our Payson Tea Party Meeting with our special speaker Doug Little on Second Amendment Attacks and Gun Rights Policy. I called and talked to Angie Elam and she decided to accommodate our members by extending the times of their meeting till 9:00 pm at Gila Community College, so we can attend after out PTP meeting and then go to the Forest Service Meeting. Thanks Angie!!!
The Forest Service is having a Public Meeting seeking input on fees and other topics related to developed recreation sites including ones at Houston Mesa, Ponderosa and Christopher Creek. The Forest Service wants our opinions to determine the future of developed recreational sites in the years to come. For instance… Should the Forest Service charge fees or should they hire a private contractor to manage campsites? The public will be able to ask questions directly to Forest Service Officials, who will request written comments.
